With our in-house millworks, J. Gibson McIlvain is truly a full-service lumber supplier. Do you know what that means for you, as our customer? Options, and plenty of them! When you combine that factor with our primary aim of quality, you have a winning combination! We can either supply you with the raw materials or actually run the millwork for your moulding, paneling, or flooring needs. When it comes to Architectural Plywood, we make sure each panel is comprised of the two main ingredients in any quality sheet of Plywood: a stable core and best possible face veneer.
Performance First
As important as the consistent quality of face veneers may be, J. Gibson McIlvain fully realizes that without a premium core, even the most gorgeous veneer made from a high-quality, exotic species will be prone to warping or delaminating. How do we make sure each panel is built to last? It’s actually more of what we don’t do: We don’t cut corners. The manufacturing process we require ensures that each panel we sell offers the kind of performance and durability possible. While that means your custom order won’t be cheap, it also comes with the promise that it won’t be cheaply made.

Quality Control
We carefully select the manufacturers we use, making sure they aren’t compromising glue quality or using an automated process that speeds things up too much to ensure proper quality control. Realizing that there’s a lot more to measuring Plywood quality than counting the number of plies, J. Gibson McIlvain utilizes the same level of quality control (even if it looks a little different) when it comes to selecting Plywood manufacturers as we do when selecting sawmills from which to source exotic hardwoods.
Unusual Options
If you’re not sure we can get you what you want, try us! We keep an inventory of standard species on hand and can usually ship them to you in two or three days; however, just because we don’t have a species on hand doesn’t mean we can’t get it. With our robust network of sawmills across the globe, we invite you to give us a try! If you require a standard species but a specialty cut, such as center-matched and bookmatched, we can do that, too. Of course, a custom order requires a bit more lead time, so you’ll have to plan for that.
When you place your next Architectural Plywood order with J. Gibson McIlvain, you’ll be opening the door for getting all your lumber and lumber products shipped to your job site in a single shipment. Not only will combining shipping save you money, but having all your orders placed through a single company will save you both time and money in the long run.
